This is a great show and another terrific TaperRob recording.
This show is a grate illustration that Jeff Sipe is starting to get more familiar with Phil's ... repertoire. His work in Bertha is excellent (he nailed the timing of the Phil Bombs in the 'Test me, Test me' verse) and his fills in Slipknot are just incredible. This Slipknot alone is worth the download.

Midway through the jam into Birdsong I knew this was going to be hot....I came to this show with two friends neither of which had ever seen a show... We
...
were in the back of the floor for beginning below the mikes and I traded some mardi gras beads for some stinko bud which by now had filled this place and the show was coming on slowly but surely like a hit of really clean 4-way.
This show was off the f*cking charts there is no other way to describe it. After we got baked the girl I was with asked me what to expect I told her just to start swaying with the crowd and let it take you away like a warm current and thats exactly what happened...
If you hear cheering around 19:00 in the Jam out of Birdsong thats Joan on the drums which was cool and she really played well...Listen to the crowd singing The Weight - I am telling you everyone was high-fiving each other this whole show. VIOLA LEE BLUES is when they really ripped the cover off the ball and never looked back... The Stevie Nicks song was awesome as well on the back of New Speedway.

I almost lost my mind this night and this was the perfect show to do it at. Dark show. I melted during the Speedway and did some of my best dancing ever
...
during the St. Stephen>11 and Help>Slip>Franklins. This show has tons of vibe. The recording captures it perfectly.

First time seeing Phil w/o Warren, and I wasn't sure what to expect. Holy @#%%!, what a show. Larry Campbell is unreal. I was front of first mez, just

above and to the left of the soundboard. From start to finish, this show smoked. Dire Wolf was a great beginning. The SOTOTW / Viola Lee Blues combo was amazing, and Bertha was a perfect set closer. Joan getting on drums at one point was a nice little kicker. Second set was even better - Stephen, 11, NS Boogie . . . Joan doing DDHNM, and the Help Slipknot Franklin's was as good a rendition as I've ever heard. Download, and enjoy!!

start to finish this show was unreal. everything was played well and there were tons of classics -st. stephen, eleven and death - come on. that is just
...
a small portion of amazing stuff happening. right in front of larry for this show and watching these guys go at it was unbelievable. this band is getting tighter by the second. this much fun should not be legal.

all highlights in this high energy show. sless, barraco & campbell are so complimentary & melodic together. ... phil found another band to rival his prior ones.
sound is solid. 4+

An amazing night at Hammerstein. This recording sharply captures the crowd, music, and atmosphere. A little problems streaming, but this could be due
...
to my work network slowing down...a frequent problem. I saw 12-2-05 in Fairfax not expecting much and was blown away. Comparing these new shows to Phil in 2000 (last time I saw him not with the reformed "Dead" was with Dylan) is like comparing two different musical projects...in my opinion. From Dire Wolf to Good Lovin' the new shows crackle with two sets of beautifully rendered classics, covers, and jams. I'll try with subsequent listenings to spot flaws in 2-18-06, but so far not much pops up. Keep playing Phil--with Chris or Joan--me and the rest of the under 30 crowd will keep coming.

WOW. Thanks for getting this up so quick. If this is what 2006 has in store for us, I am a happy camper. I really like the sound of this lineup. The
...
vocals are a little distant in the recording (maybe a good thing), but the jams are sweet. Turn it on and just fade away.
